Well, here we are.
Hi, I’m Foster Kamer, an award-winning writer and editor. And photographer. And media strategist. I’m still having fun.
My writing about media, culture, restaurants, nightlife, and then some has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, New York Magazine, Interview Magazine, and Gossamer, among others.
I’m an editorial consultant for FOUND and Kaleidoscope . I’m represented by the greatest agent in America, Alyssa Reuben at WME (by “represented,” I mean “she puts up with my shit and deserves a larger percentage”). Truly, you should all be so lucky. I’ve also recently had a piece anthologized in The Best American Food Writing series — this one — and picked up a few other awards along the way.
Finally, my day job is over at Futurism as the site’s editorial director — my job there is a combination of “publisher” and “editor-in-chief.” They let me make up my title because I’ve made Futurism’s various benefactors more money than is reasonably fair. Anyway, I’ve had a bunch of other day jobs in media, too, which you can find here.
If you’ve got a question for me, please: Fire away. Otherwise, remember — it’s a simple game: You throw the ball, you hit the ball, you catch the ball.
